This annual event takes place on January 1st, and is our version of the Polar Plunge, only its even for Dino-mite! After the dive, guests can enjoy a hike through the parks scenic trails, connect with nature, and of course view the world famous dinosaur tracks that Dinosaur Valley State Park has become known for.

Guests that prefer a warmer start to the New Year can check out the variety of museums that Glen Rose Somervell County has to offer. Creation Evidence Museum visitors will get to view a variety of amazing artifacts including those from dinosaurs that once roamed the area, a replica of the Gutenberg Press, and model of Noah’s Ark. The Dallas Cowboy fans out there will enjoy seeing the clay mold from local artist, Robert Sommers,that was used to create the Tom Landry Statue located at AT& T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Creation Evidence Museum is also working on a state of the art Dino Lab where world renowned scientist will conduct their research. For our animal lovers, you will want to join us for the annual Nolan River Kennel Club Dog Show that takes place in January at The Somervell County Expo Center. Those in attendance will get to see over 1,400 dogs and breeds under one roof, 7 breed and group specialties, and over 4 days of competition all in a climate controlled arena.
